Education
– My Story
lDespite my earliest thoughts of going to college, I did
not seriously start my higher
education until 1999 – the year I turned 30.
I started out as a Human
Services Major and I loved it. I soon
learned that I would need at least
a Masters Degree to attain a career that I wanted. I completed my Associates Degree in 3 years and moved on to FAU for my
Bachelors.
l
lI still wasn’t sure what
I wanted to be when I grew up, but I enjoyed the helping fields, like psychology, and discovered a
passion for history.
l
lI began to realize that
my future lied in teaching, but I stuck to my social science major that allowed me a very broad area of
study. I still enjoy various studies and hope to find a career that will
incorporate many interests and
skills.
l
lI recently began my
Graduate studies in Educational Leadership, and find myself loving every minute of it. I am looking forward to a career in teaching, with my primary focus on adult education.
