Mary Parker Follett was best known for her work around the administration and
management of organizations. Her approach to management in an organization was as group networks
rather than as hierarchical structures, and attended to the influence of human relations within the group. Mary
Parker Follett devoted a significant amount of attention to the state of management and administration in
industry and public institutions. She also became involved the movement to establish community centers within the
public schools system.Her involvement in, and
advocacy of community centers did a great deal to establish them as an important social and educational form.
